Tonight at the Schnitz, Dr. Neil DeGrasse Tyson gave an enlightening and hilarious talk on the critical importance of science in society. I was charmed by his combination of expertise and comic spontaneity. This is his response to a woman in the audience who asked what we can tell our children to help them take an active interest in science. His answer was priceless. “Children are born scientists. They’re curious about everything around them. What happens? We spend the first year of their lives teaching them to walk and talk. And we spend the rest of their lives telling them to shut up and sit down.”

Keep being your unabashed, awesome self! Your wit, wisdom, and integrity make you a hero to many.

A live recording I recently did at Portland’s Old Church, downtown. It was a real pleasure working with this vocalist, and I hope to do more such songs soon!

Ryan, Thank you so much for the fantastic performance at our daughter's wedding.[...]
You were superb and everyone was delighted with your playing.  Your music set a lovely tone for the ceremony among the roses and lifted everyone's spirits. It put the perfect touch on a perfect setting.  We appreciate all your preparation and dedication to helping make the event a beautiful lifetime memory.
–Cheryl and Bill Laucher

We were very lucky to have Ryan play classical guitar for our wedding ceremony, and working with him was absolutely amazing. He was everything you would expect in a trained classical guitarist [...] We would not only recommend him, but will insist that if you are looking for a beautiful, elegant and classical sound, Ryan is the best option you will find.
–Chris and Michelle Lang

Ryan was the perfect addition to our wedding day. His song selection was great, his playing flawless, and he was punctual and professional.
