Portland-based guitarist with 20 years of performance experience, trained in Seville, Spain, offering elegant live music for intimate concerts, vineyards and wineries, private events, and upscale gatherings.

Guitarist | Composer | Educator

Ryan Walsh studied guitar in Spain, refining his craft at the Conservatorio Superior de Sevilla and immersing himself in the tradition and expressive depth of the classical guitar at its source. His years there gave him not only a deeper command of the instrument, but also a lasting connection to the musical culture, history, and spirit that continue to shape his work today.

Now based in Portland, Oregon, Ryan is a classical guitarist and award-winning composer known for his deeply emotional, evocative playing. He has performed on stages around the world and now appears widely across the Pacific Northwest, bringing a rich repertoire of classical, Spanish, and contemporary works to settings ranging from the concert hall to more intimate venues. Whether in a formal recital or a more personal atmosphere, his playing is guided by the same commitment to beauty, emotional resonance, and storytelling.

Inspired both by the Spanish guitar tradition and by the misty landscapes of the Pacific coastline and Columbia River where he grew up, Ryan’s playing combines technical virtuosity with a rare level of sensitivity and expressive force. As a performer, arranger, and composer, he is drawn to music that speaks vividly and directly, whether through the elegance of the classical repertoire, the color and passion of Spanish guitar music, or contemporary works reimagined for the instrument.

Whether performing, arranging, or composing, Ryan’s aim is always the same: to create music that transports the listener beyond the everyday, into another time, another place, or somewhere entirely new.
